Mapping Technology Workshop on 27 September in Adelaide

Mappers are invited to attend or contribute to the Mapping Technology Workshop to be held in Adelaide in conjunction with the 2010 Australian Championships Orienteering Carnival, South Australia.

The workshop is intended as a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences of mappers and others in using the latest technologies for orienteering map making.

The Workshop will be held on Monday 27 September, 2010, at State Assoc House, 73 Wakefield St, ADELAIDE. This is the Rest Day immediately after the SA Long Distance Championships.

9.30 - 9.40    Opening information

9.40 - 10.00    'Digital photogrammetry & georeferenced aerial photographs' by Aerometrex, Adelaide 

10.00 - 10.20    Use of data from laser scanning for orienteering base maps, an example from ICOM2010 Map Meeting, Norway, summary by Adrian

10.45 - 11.00    Update on the Revision of the International Specifications for Orienteering Maps 2000

11.00 -  12.30    Open discussion & exchange of experiences using GPS, Google Earth, OCAD10, etc., for mapping

12.30 - 1.00    Lunch

1.00 -   ?     Continuation of open discussion, presentations or other topics
